September 22-23, 2014: A Fresh Start

By September 25, 2014Uncategorized

….Sherry woke up earlier this morning before we did to make breakfast, so we didn’t get to say goodbye, but Tim was home working. We ate breakfast and packed up before leaving this morning. Tim had a lunch meeting at eleven so we headed out before then. He dropped us back off at Gridley’s BBQ, the place we left off about two weeks ago. We prayed for each other before we started walking. Being with Tim and Sherry was a great start to the trip, we had a lot of fun being with them for a day. We did not walk too far starting off today because we wanted to catch up a months amount of work on the blog. We came across a Korean Church and decided to check it out. The pastor and the assistant pastor were there and invited us in to have a bottle water and a piece of cake. The assistant pastor was not Korean though, he was just a southern man with a southern accent. The head pastor, Yun, had to leave and make some errands which left us with the assistant pastor, Aaron whom we talked to for a while. He let us work on the blog for however long we desired. We also asked if we could spend the night at the church, but it wasn’t his call to make, it was the Pastor Yun’s. But, he actually ended up wanting us to spend the night at his house. He could not take us because he rode a motorcycle to the church, so he gave us his address to walk to, which was only two miles away. We got to his apartment and he invited us in to have some chicken Alfredo cooked by his wife., Jaime for dinner. She also made a ton of cookies. For the rest of the evening we just hung out and enjoyed each others company. A snapple fact about Aaron is that he brews his own beer which is apparently much healthier than store bought beer, it’s a hobby of his. Later that evening, they let us shower and gave us their kid’s bedroom to sleep in for the night…

…The next morning we headed out early because Aaron had to leave for work. Before leaving we had the privilege to pray for Aaron and his family. God will abundantly bless Aaron, for blessing us so much and his heart to help the needy. We had a great time together and hope to cross paths again. Today we walked to a Bass Pro Shop to get some supplies for the trip. We then made our way to an Inn so that we could completely catch up on the blog before crossing over the Mississippi River into Arkansas. So for most of the day Jonathan worked on the blog. Later for dinner we went to Cracker Barrel, and met a women who needed to be encouraged and prayed for. We felt lead to give her money and bless her.  God really moved and she was overwhelmed with thankfulness. She said that she needed the money for gas to get back home. We were so blessed to see her happy and smiling, praising the Lord. There is no better satisfaction then following what God tells you to do through his Holy Spirit’s guiding, so always be willing to listen to the spirit and serve others because you reap so much fruit when you have that mindset. After dinner we walked back to the Inn to get some sleep from a long days work on the blog…
