October 3, 2014: A Short Taxi Drive

By October 8, 2014Uncategorized

…Early the following morning there was no electricity at the Relax Inn because of the severe storm last night. We didn’t hear it but apparently it was storming pretty bad. Since we could not really do anything we decided to fall back asleep and eventually the electricity came back on. We then went to eat breakfast and then try to find a ride back to where we left off, at that bait/grocery store, so we went to a travel station and snacked on a little bit of food, but couldn’t find a ride. So we prayed and went outside to start walking and see if anybody would be willing to take us five miles down the street. Almost the instant we started walking a man pulled up and asked us if we needed a ride anywhere and he drove us to the location! Praise the Lord! It was along his way back home to Memphis from Little Rock. He was a really cool guy who was actually Catholic. When we arrived we continued to walk for about ten miles on flat land until sunset and found a spot to camp out at on the side of the road sort of in a ditch. The owner’s came by and let us camp on the property. It was going to be a nice chilly night, it has been a long time since we have had such a night, since last winter…
