Passions – Mark Hoffer has a ton of talents and skills but his passions lie in sailing, backpacking, and climbing. He is a first mate on a charter boat that takes teenage Young Life mission groups (christian organization) on boat trips in the Bahamas. He also loves taking backpacking trips in the mountains of Colorado and various east coast mountains for extended periods of time. He seeks larger scale feets in Alaska some day. Climbing is also one of his joys in life. From ice climbing to catching him half way up a pine tree in Arizona, he enjoys all sorts of high terrain.
Story – He was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and discovered his passion for Jesus in high school. He has since graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in electrical work. He now works on the charter boat as a first mate since May 2015. He works 9 months out of the year and the other 3 he takes off. He decided to walk with A Church of Us for a month and a half; all through November to the beginning of December. He now is returning home until the beginning of January where he will go back to sailing the Bahamian seas.
