January 26-27, 2015: Unexpected Stay

By February 16, 2015Uncategorized

….Joe the next day gave us a ride back to the church where we had left our jogging strollers the past couple of nights. One of leaders in the church, Billy Bob the support pastor, let us read our bibles for a while in the church office area before we left for walking. We also got the opportunity to pray for both Joe and Billy Bob before leaving and also the pastor Steve Lawson. Then we finally started walking and ended up finding a camp spot on a church property. We called the church, but no one answered, so we decided just to set up anyways and explain ourselves if anyone was to come and talk to us about setting up camp…

…Sure enough someone did stop by the next morning, but we explained our mission to him and he understood that we were not crazy people. It was a hot day for walking on our way to the next town Royse City, TX. It was hot enough to make us feel pretty tired and faint. God is awesome though and took care of us by providing a subway, which was one of the first restaurants we came across coming into the town. We sat and cooled off for a little and continued walking towards the evening when it was nicer. Eventually we got right into Royse City and ended up at a McDonald’s. A very kind Spanish man and his son gave us some money for a meal and then went inside. When he came out he asked us about our story and invited us to spend the night at his house with his family. His name was Oscar,  We were not expecting that from the Lord! His wife fed us dinner back at the house and gave us a bedroom for the night and we played with their youngest son on the PS4…
