….Reyna picked us up from the bus station in the morning and took us to her church’s service in the morning. After the service she took us out for coffee. We felt earlier before we got to Lubbock to spend a night at Tent City, a pretty much huge camping ground for homeless people in the city. It was also a ministry overseen by a church. We got there and saw good amount of army tents set up outside beside a giant building called “the barn.” We got to sleep in the barn where it was warmer. We had the opportunity to speak into their lives a lot, encourage, and pray for them. God has such a heart for the homeless and the rejected and it was awesome being able to see hope light up their eyes after talking to them through the hope Jesus gave us. I challenge anyone who is a follower of Jesus to keep your eyes and ears open to the least of these and not only feed or give them money just because they are homeless, but they are also human and they need more than food, they need Christ’s love and we show them by acknowledging and spending time with them. He died for them just as much as he died for us. Make time to spend with those in need and make relationships with those who have nothing. Be that family they never had. Be God’s hands and feet for the poor. Love them, this is what Jesus desires…
