December 7-8, 2014: Animal Hide

By January 20, 2015Uncategorized

….We had the privilege to lead worship and speak at Augustine’s church on Sunday. We also spoke at the youth bible study before the service. Augustine and a few other members from the church invited us to lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Sandra, the lady we met yesterday was at the church also and came to lunch with us. She also had invited us to spend the night at her house where she fed us a very large dinner. We got to say farewell to Augustine, Chris, and their family and they took us to Sandra’s house. We met her son Stephen who showed us his hide collection of animal skins. He traps animals for a hobby and skins them. Sounds crazy but it was actually pretty cool. The animal fur was very soft especially coyote fur. Sandra also showed us hiking gear she had used over the years, backpack and down sleeping bag, which was all homemade. She gave us a spare room to sleep for the night…

…The next day, Sandra cooked us a healthy breakfast and took us to our walking starting point. We walked a couple of miles and stealth camped in the woods beside the road. It was a pretty regular great day on the road…
