April 16, 2014: A Youthful Experience

By April 25, 2014Uncategorized

Skip, the sound guy for Russelville Church of God, took us in the morning to Cracker Barrel. It was Jeffrey’s first Cracker Barrel experience so we were excited to see his reaction. Skip blessed us by paying for the meal, and it was one of the best breakfasts we have eaten. We were well stuffed with French toast, biscuits and gravy, home fries, and many more southern entree’s. Jeffrey of course loved it, who wouldn’t? Skip after breakfast took us back to the place where Tayler’s mom picked us up the day before, and we walked from there to the outskirts of Morristown, Tennessee. Along the way we stopped at BP gas station so we could read the word of God and talk to some people. We left about an hour later and continued on our way to Morristown. While walking we ran into Skip again, who was looking for us so he could take us to speak at their church’s youth group. We decided to go. The youth pastor, whose name was stinking awesome; Jonathan, got the youth students fired up, so when we arrived the youth were pretty crazy. So, we got to speak to the youth about the trip and its struggles, blessings, and testimonies. Many questions were asked and I think the youth were thoroughly inspired by our quest. All of the inspiration is God’s though, we get no credit. After the speaking, Trevor got to play his super artistic songs, to treat the youth. We got to talk a lot to the youth leaders afterwards and they were an amazing, on fire for the Lord group of people. They were very musical as well and they sang/played us worship songs. All of them had stellar voices and musical skills. The church then offered to pay for a night’s stay at the Super 8 down the road and drove us there. We want to thank Skip for his humble and servant heart and Jonathan for his encouraging heart for youth, including us. They have been a huge help and encouragement.
